In This Great Struggle: The Greatest Generation Remembers World War II

A press kit with information about the exhibit can be found at bit.ly/alplmww2. The kit includes a news release, photographs, videos, and a list of people included in the exhibit interviews.
There will be a preview at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5. Journalists will be able to tour the exhibit, talk to the curators and meet veterans of World War II, including some who are featured in the exhibit.
The preview will take place at the ALPLM’s museum building, 212 N. Sixth Street, Springfield. Please contact Chris Wills if you plan to attend.
A special flag-raising ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 6, outside the museum. A U.S. flag and a French flag, both of which recently flew at Utah Beach in Normandy, will be raised. France’s deputy consul general in Chicago is scheduled to attend, as is World War II veteran Charles Sehe.
The exhibit will open officially at 10 a.m. Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony inside the museum.
